Keewaydin’s 100th Anniversary Alumni Celebration
Keewaydin turns 100 in 2009 and we plan to celebrate this historic milestone with gusto! From August 27-30, 2009, we will turn the campus over to alumni throughout the years to reconnect with old friends and relive their camper days. Come and enjoy a hike on “majestic” Moosalamoo, a morning dip in Lake Dunmore, a relaxing paddle at evening “boats out”, rest hour, and, most importantly, sharing memories with old camper and staff friends.
This is an historic event that you do not want to miss!
Reunion Highlights Include:
- A Four Winds Ceremony, featuring famous “Winds” from the past (Saturday)
- The P-Rade (Saturday)
- A Special Commemorative Frolics
- A Campfire in the Wiantinaug Indian Circle
- A presentation of Mike Vorenberg’s 100th year history book and the 100th year history DVD
- A “Nature Symposium” featuring special nature activities
- Daily activities: canoeing, sailing, tennis, hiking, climbing wall, archery, and more
- Daily Cocktail Hour on the Dining Hall Porch
- Songs after dinner
Housing: Tents and cabins at Keewaydin and Songadeewin will be available. Priority for on-campus housing will go to alumni (campers and staff) and their dependents. All others will be put on a waitlist and notified no later than June 15. For those who prefer more “civilized” lodging, there are many hotels and bed and breakfasts in the Middlebury and Brandon areas (go to our website for Hotel Listing—www.keewaydin.org).
